The Wiz (Importance of Family)
They will always be there whenever you need them. They are ready to give up their most valuable assets for you. When the whole world doesn’t want to be with you, they are ready to spend every moment with you. Who are these people ? Your family. In my opinion, family is very important because they serve as the greatest means of support to you, right from birth till your very lasts days. Also a family consists of people you can always depend on, even though things get rough, there will always be a way out with the support of your family. After watching The Wiz, some significance of family can be seen and well understood.
In the movie, Dorothy was old enough to be self responsible, but she wasn’t as independent as she needed to be. She still depended a lot on her uncle and aunt. Dorothy and her dog Toto had to leave with them, and they satisfied both of them with their daily necessities. Her aunt also gave her various advices concerning how she had to take charge and be responsible for herself. Her aunt also advised her to take another job that will pay her more. Not everyone can get this type of support from others. This shows how the movie emphasizes a lot on the importance of family.
At a certain point in the movie, Dorothy also had a dream, which had a lot to do with team work and support. She ended up developing a relationship with the people she encountered in her dream . Dorothy, the scarecrow, the tin man and the lion. Each and every one of them had one problem or the other, but due to the fact that they couldn’t solve it alone, they amalgamated and, became very close to each other, and therefore seen as a very good means of support. They all became one, even though they were of different natures, and have different believes.
In conclusion, family is very important for individuals, because, they will always be there to take care of you and provide necessary support that will be very valuable for you. The movies was pretty straight forward and interesting.
